POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Aug 6 ,2021: During his visit to Bangladesh Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the gift of 109 life support ambulances. To fulfill that promise, 30 ambulances arrived in Petrapole on Thursday. They will leave for Dhaka after getting clearance at Benapole ground customs check post.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will pay a two-day visit to Dhaka on March 26 this year at the invitation of Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina to attend the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s Independence and the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
According to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Thursday, during his visit to Bangladesh, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the gift of 109 life support ambulances for the development of healthcare in Bangladesh, especially in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic. To fulfill that promise, 30 ambulances have now arrived in Petrapole. They will leave for Dhaka after getting clearance at Benapole ground customs check post. The rest of the ambulances will arrive in phases by the end of September.
These ambulances have been provided to the Government of Bangladesh to deal with the Covid epidemic. This gift reflects India’s continued and long-term commitment to support the fraternal people of Bangladesh.
