POBNEWS24, Dhaka June 11, 2024: A total of 15 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia during Hajj this year. Two of them died on Monday.
This information was revealed from the daily bulletin of the IT helpdesk on Hajj portal on Tuesday (June 11).
Besides, 79 thousand 559 Bangladeshi pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia so far after the start of Hajj flights.
According to the bulletin till 3 pm on Monday, a total of 15 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia. Among them 14 men, one woman. Eleven died in Mecca and four in Medina.
Among the pilgrims who died, Kadamtali Md of the capital. Shajahan (48), Comilla Kotwalur Md. Ali Imam Bhuiyan (65), Jamal Uddin (69) of Cox’s Bazar Maheshkhali, Ramur Md. of Cox’s Bazar. Nurul Alam (61), Maksud Ahmed (61) of Chakoria, Cox’s Bazar, Mamtaz Begum (63) of Faridpur Nagarkanda, Sheikh Ariful Islam (57) of Dhaka Rampura Bansri, Gaibandha Saghatar Md. Solaiman (73), Rangpur Pirganj Md. Shahajud Ali (55) and Rangpur Taraganj Md. Ghulam Quddus (54).
Besides, a total of 79 thousand 559 pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia. Among them, 5 thousand 297 pilgrims of government management and 74 thousand 262 pilgrims of private management.
So far 201 flights have been operated to Saudi Arabia. The number of flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines is 105,
the number of flights operated by Saudi Airlines is 68 and the flights operated by Flinus Airlines are 28.
This Hajj will be held in Saudi Arabia on June 15. The first flight of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia started on May 9. Flights to Saudi will continue till June 12. The return flight will start on June 20 after Hajj. The return flight will end on July 22.
This time a total of 85 thousand 257 people will go for Hajj by government and private management. Out of this, 4 thousand 562 people will perform Hajj under government management and 80 thousand 695 people will perform Hajj under private management through agencies.
