POBNEWS24, Dhaka Oct 7, 2024 : This time, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invested money equivalent to 400 million US dollars to the President of Maldives, Mohammad Muijju. Muizzur’s visit to India marked the end of a year-long diplomatic dispute.
On the second day of his visit to India on Monday (October 7) morning, Maldives President Muijju paid his respects at Mahatma Gandhi’s mausoleum at Rajghat in New Delhi. After that Muijju, once a staunch anti-Indian, was given a red carpet reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Apart from President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Modi was also present there. Muijju later met with Indian Prime Minister Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
Muijju called India a friend of Maldives in a joint press conference.
This leader, who is known as a friend of China, also said that Maldives is keeping in mind that India should not be harmed in any work. Modi also assured that India will stand by Maldives in the future as before. Also, the two countries will help each other in various projects.
This is Muijju’s second visit to India in four months.
After the tour, Muijju will return to Maldives on October 10.
