POBNEWS24, Desk report Dhaka Oct 22, 2024 :  A group of lawyers got into an altercation with the judge during the hearing of a Complaint Case (CR). Tuesday (October 22) Chittagong Second Metropolitan Magistrate. This incident happened in the court of Ali Ullah.

Meanwhile, all the judges of the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court walked out of the courtroom, complaining of indecent behavior with the judge. Pro-BNP lawyers protested in the court in protest of this incident. The lawyer leaders have sat in a meeting with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate till the last news.

According to court sources, on Tuesday morning, the Metropolitan Magistrate. A group of lawyers filed a CR case complaint in the court of Oli Ullah. The case was heard at the appointed time. It was led by the General Secretary of District Lawyers Association and District PP Md. Ashraf Hossain Chowdhury.

At the hearing, the lawyers pressed the judge to order the record of the case as a direct FIR, i.e. a regular police case. The judge wants to know about various matters related to the allegations of the case and about the accused. But the plaintiff could not give all the correct answers to the judge. But still the defense lawyers pressed for the order to record the case as an FIR. At one point there was an argument between the lawyer and the judge. Embarrassed Metropolitan Magistrate. Ali Ullah left the court and went down. The other Metropolitan Magistrates left the Ajlas when informed.

Chittagong City Police Deputy Commissioner (Prosecution) AAM Humayan Kabir told the media that during the hearing of the CR case, there was a discussion between a judge and the general secretary of the District Bar Association. From what I heard, the judge asked the plaintiff various questions about the charges and the defendants. He could not answer the plaintiff. Still, the lawyers demanded an FIR order in the case. The judge had an argument with the lawyers. As a result, the judge walked out of the court and later all the metropolitan magistrates walked out of the court. Lawyers are meeting with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate till the last news.

General Secretary of Lawyers Association. Ashraf Hossain Chowdhury said, we went to the court of Metropolitan Magistrate-2 with the application of a case of Swaib Imran who was injured in the Muradpur incident on July 17. The plaintiff still has bullet wounds on his back. I asked for the order that the case should be taken as an FIR in the police station. Then as per the rules the plaintiff takes oath and tells the court the names of 12-14 accused. But the judge asks the plaintiff to know the names of all the accused. Then I say, it is a matter of time to call so many names. After watching the video footage, the names of the accused have been given. Accused cannot say all the names. Then ask for the order again. The court ordered the Police Bureau of Investigation to investigate the case. I also thank you for the order.

Ashraf Chowdhury said, after the order, the judge again told me – do not try to force my court. Then I said, where did I lie? After that, he got down from the Ajlas and went to the CMM (Chief Metropolitan Hakim) Sir. Then all the judges of the CMM court went down. Many complaints against him (magistrate). On behalf of the association, we boycotted his court. I told Mr. CMM over the phone two days ago that this magistrate misbehaved. He has to be removed from here within this week. Otherwise we will boycott the court.
