POBNEWS24, Benapole Jessore, June 22,2025: Bangladesh Railway Director General Md. Afzal Hossain visited Benapole Railway Station. Earlier, he spoke to the local people of Navaran and Sharsha upazilas.
He reached Benapole Railway Station from Dhaka at 2:45 pm on Saturday (June 21) by Ruposhi Bangla Express train. During the visit, he inspected the overall condition of the station, the quality of passenger service and the activities of the station and workshop.
He observed the condition of various establishments including ticket counters, waiting rooms, platforms. He provided necessary directions to the officials to improve the overall security, cleanliness and quality of passenger service of Benapole Railway Station.
Locals said that Benapole Railway Station is the oldest and most important international railway station in Bangladesh which is the main gateway for rail communication with India. The Dhaka Gami Ruposhi Bangla train, which passed through Benapole via Padma Bridge, formed a human chain demanding that passengers be allowed to board and disembark at Navaran Railway Station in Sharsha Upazila.
During the Director General’s visit to Benapole Station, he was accompanied by the Railway’s Private Secretary, Chief Engineer (West), DGM (Dhaka), DGM (Personnel), COPS (West), CCS (West) and other senior officials.
