POBNEWS24, Desk report Dhaka June 23, 2025 : India’s central investigation agency National Investigation Agency (NIA) has claimed that all three militants involved in the horrific terrorist attack on tourists in Kashmir’s Pahelgam were Pakistani nationals. The NIA also said that they were members of the banned organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. BBC News.
The attack in the Baisaran Valley on April 22 killed 26 people. The NIA was given the responsibility of investigating the case soon after the incident. The investigation agency said that two Kashmiri residents were recently arrested. They had sheltered the three militants in a local hut before the attack. The arrested persons are in the custody of the NIA.
Initially, the police said that two of the attackers were Pakistanis and one was a local citizen. However, the NIA has been claiming from the beginning that all three are foreigners. Although extensive search and detention operations were carried out across Kashmir after the attack, the militants have not been caught so far.
A militant group called The Resistance Front initially claimed responsibility for the attack, but later denied it. Pakistan has yet to officially respond to the NIA’s new claims, but it has previously denied any involvement in the attacks.
