POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 26, 2025 : The Workers’ Party of Bangladesh has issued a statement expressing concern over the way the interim government is moving closer to the policies of unilateral US imperialism.
“The US-Bangladesh joint military exercise, non-disclosure agreement in the name of trade agreement, establishment of the UN Human Rights Commission office in Bangladesh, agreement with Star Link, port lease agreement, Arakan Humanitarian Corridor, etc. are all being made in the dark by the US imperialism. Following the exclusive US policy, the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh is under threat. The current interim government is not accountable to the people and the way it is taking decisions on the fundamental and important issues of the state is in line with the authoritarian rule process. The people have demanded early elections to the National Parliament to establish democracy in the country, although a date of December 25 to February 26 has been announced among the people, but there is no initiative in holding the elections. On the other hand, the gradual deterioration of the law and order situation in the country is leading the country towards utter anarchy.
There is no sign of abating the dictatorship, continuous extortion, Gopalganj murder, hundreds of school students, guardians, teachers were killed in the crashed plane fire, the government’s decision The chaotic situation has pushed the citizens of the country into fear, apprehension, anxiety and worry. In this situation, everyone is seeking relief. The interim government is proving its failure in every field. The government should hold national elections between December 25 and February 26. Transfer power to the elected political party through an inclusive election involving all active political parties. It is now an urgent task to restore the law and order situation to normal in the peaceful march towards democracy. Otherwise, if everything goes out of hand, the country will descend into civil war. The country called Bangladesh will end up in the game of geopolitical power.”
