POBNEWS24, Desk report Dhaka Apr 7, 2026 : Amid rising tensions in Central Asia, the Indian government has issued important guidelines for Indian citizens living in Iran. A special advisory was issued on Tuesday evening, urging all Indians to exercise utmost caution.
This guideline comes at a time when the 10-day deadline given by Trump is about to expire and it is feared that the situation in Iran may become more complicated. This warning has been issued keeping in mind the risk of possible military tension or attack.
The embassy has clearly stated that for the time being, all Indian citizens are advised to remain in their current location for at least 48 hours. In particular, they have been asked to refrain from unnecessary travel. They have been instructed to completely avoid going near military bases, power plants or other sensitive places.
It has also been advised not to stay on the upper floors of multi-storey buildings for safety reasons. This instruction is because the upper floors may be more vulnerable in case of a possible air strike or explosion.
The advisory also states that citizens should stay indoors and maintain regular communication with the embassy. Especially those staying in hotels managed by the embassy have been strictly instructed to stay indoors. At the same time, it has been advised to maintain regular contact with the embassy staff present at the hotel.
Special precautions have also been advised in the case of travel. The embassy said that highway or long-distance travel should be done only with the permission and instructions of the embassy. Security measures may change at any time according to the situation, so it has been asked to refrain from making a single decision.
Multiple emergency phone numbers have been kept open to assist citizens and they have been informed that they are active 24 hours a day. Along with this, an official email ID has also been provided, so that if necessary, they can be contacted quickly.
The embassy emphasized, “All Indian citizens are requested to follow the government guidelines and updates regularly and remain vigilant.” As the situation is rapidly changing, it is advised to follow any new information or instructions seriously.
All in all, this is an important warning for Indians staying in Iran, where safety is given the highest priority. The Indian Embassy is emphasizing the need to remain vigilant and cautious in the current situation and not take unnecessary risks.
