POBNEWS24,Dhaka Jul 7, 2021: As part of the Corona Awareness Programme, Jatiya Tarun Sangha, a renowned NGO of Bangladesh, today distributed masks, leaflets and other protective items in different parts of the capital.
The areas are: Matuail, Demra, Hajaribagh and Dhanmondi areas of Dhaka.
Members of Civil Society, bank officials and members of law enforcing agencies were also present on the occasion when the protective materials were distributed among rickshaw pullers and other poor people.
Mohammad Fazlul Haque, Founder Chairman of Jatiya Tarun Sangha, and Vice President of Asia Youth Council, was present on the occasion.
Jatiya Tarun Sangha is a national voluntary organization established in the eighties. The activities of this organization are now running in 291 upazilas of Bangladesh. About 20 million people in the country are now involved in activities including primary education, health clinics and micro-credit.
Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, Jatiya Tarun Sangha has started distributing relief and food items among the middle class people, including day labourers and rickshaw pullers.
While addressing the occasion, Fazlul Haque said, “Public life is now facing disruption due to the pandemic. Scarcity of food and employment is causing sufferings, especially for the poor people.
Amid this crisis, the government must come forward. The government’s health ministry needs to be more active, he said.
Vaccination for Covid has been stopped due to the shortage of vaccine, he said, calling upon the government to bring all the people under vaccination programme as soon as possible.
