POBNEWS24, Dhaka, July 26, 2026 : NTV’s Nuruddin Ahmed has been elected as the President and RTV’s Mohammad Momin Hossain as the General Secretary of the Greater Dhaka Journalists Forum. The bi-annual general meeting and elections of the organization were held at the National Press Club today, Saturday, July 25.
The general meeting was presided over by the organization’s president Farid Hossain. At the beginning of the meeting, a condolence motion was accepted for 4 members who died in the last 3 years. They are – Abdul Wase Ansari Babu, Shehab Uddin Nafa, Saidur Rahman Rimon and Fazlun Nazima Khanam.
Shahin Chowdhury, Morsalin Babla, Kartik Chattaji, Rafiqur Rahman, Monirul Islam, Shanta Maria, Anjan Rahman, Bulbul Ahmed, Syed Nurul Huda Rono, Mirza Amin Ahmed Yan, Dewan Masuda Sultana, among others, spoke at the general meeting.
The remaining members of the newly elected committee are Vice President ABM Rafiqur Rahman, SM Monirul Islam, Joint Secretary Anjan Rahman, Treasurer Shirin Sultana, Public Welfare Secretary Nurun Nabi Robi, Culture and Publication Secretary Sumon Islam, Office Secretary Atiqul Islam, Executive Members – Bulbul Ahmed, Rashedul Haque, Galman Shafi, Delwar Hossain Badal, Kushar Yasir, Lutfar Rahman Sikder.
A 7-member advisory council was also formed in the general meeting. The advisory council members are Kartik Chatterjee, Farid Hossain, Shahin Chowdhury, Hasan Hafiz, Morsalin Babla, Shahabuddin Sikder and Mahbub Alam.
