POBNEWS24, Desk report Sep 27,2021 :Police recovered the body of a four-year-old boy named Ayan Rahman in Laxmipur on Monday morning. Police arrested mother Sabina Yasmin (25) in the incident. Police say the mother tried to commit suicide by hanging herself after strangling her child. The incident took place at Laharkandi village in Sadar upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Laxmipur Sadar Model Police Station Jasim Uddin confirmed the matter at first light. Police believe that the woman killed her son and tried to commit suicide after a quarrel with her husband.
According to police and relatives, Sabina’s husband Azgar Rahman is a Saudi Arabian expatriate. Sabina lived in a rented house in Laharkandi village with her children and mother-in-law. Recently, there was a financial crisis in their family. Sabina and her husband had an argument on their mobile phone last evening. Later, Sabina took her son Ayan to her room and closed the door.
After a while, the family members heard the sound from the room and went ahead. They broke down the door and went inside and saw Sabina trying to commit suicide by wrapping a scarf with a ceiling fan. At that time, Ian’s body was lying on the bed in a bloody state. A blood-stained pot was also found next to the bed.
According to Humayun Kabir, Sabina’s father-in-law, Sabina and Azgar had an argument in the evening. Sabina was very angry because of the quarrel. Everyone in the family tried to comfort Sabina. But the daughter-in-law went to her house and closed the door.
OC Jasim Uddin said Sabina had confessed to killing the child. He has been arrested in this incident. A case is being prepared against him. It is initially believed that she lost her mental balance and killed the child as she did not get along with her husband.
