POBNEWS24, Desk report Oct 2,2021 :Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said, there is no darkness in any village. Electricity facilities have been extended to all villages in Bangladesh. Power connections have paved the way for development in all other areas.
The speaker was speaking as the chief guest at the groundbreaking ceremony of a 1,000-seat auditorium-cum-multipurpose hall in Pirganj upazila organized by Rangpur District Council on Saturday (October 2).
He said setting up an auditorium cum-multipurpose hall in Pirganj upazila with all modern facilities is a timely decision. The auditorium will play a role in holding meetings and seminars in response to the growing demand. Work is also underway to set up a multipurpose women’s training center in Vendabari Union through the district council.
Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said the Prime Minister has taken multi-faceted initiatives to expand all the facilities in the city to the villages. The government is working for the balanced development of all the unions in Pirganj. In the meantime, development activities of Marine Academy, Technical College, Bangabandhu Mural, Model Mosque, Sheikh Kamal IT Training Center, Shaheed Minar, Women’s Training Center, Computer Lab have been completed. The site has been identified as part of the stadium installation activities. Work is underway on Charlene Road to turn the Nile into a tourist destination. Besides, the proposal to set up an industrial city in Barabila has been passed. The government has been implementing extensive activities to make Pirganj a modern model upazila.
Rangpur Zilla Parishad Chairman Advocate Safia Khanam presided over the function and Pirganj Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Pirganj Municipality Mayor ASM Tajimul Islam Shamim conducted the function. Mandal, Upazila Awami League President Azizur Rahman Ranga, Upazila Awami League Vice President Sahidul Islam Pintu and other local Awami leaders were present.
