POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Oct 7, 2021:The CID wrote in the chargesheet filed in the court in the drug case against the girlfriend that the actress’s liquor license had expired long before her arrest. Apart from that, he bought the car that was confiscated from his girlfriend with a loan of Tk 3 million from a bank.
On August 4, RAB raided Parimani’s house in Banani and arrested her. Later, the RAB said that 19 bottles of foreign liquor and drugs called LSD and ice were recovered from him. Parimani was released on bail after being held captive for more than four weeks in the case. He was interrogated in remand on three occasions. Many criticized him for being remanded in this way in drug cases. Later, the high court also expressed anger over this. The High Court sought an explanation from the remanding judges.
After nearly two months of investigation, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) filed a chargesheet against Parimani in the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on September 4. The court saw the chargesheet and fixed October 10 for the hearing.
According to the chargesheet, there were no valid documents of drugs seized from the house of the actress. The CID has been informed in writing by the Department of Narcotics Control that in the financial year 2019-20, a license was given to consume alcoholic beverages in the name of Parimani. The license expired on June 30 last year. Parimani had collected illegal drugs from different places through two accused Ashraful Islam and Kabir Hossain and kept them at home. He could not give a satisfactory answer regarding the possession of drugs. Parimani used his car to carry drugs.
Asked about the matter, Parimani’s lawyer Mojibur Rahman told Prothom Alo on Wednesday that they did not know what was written in the chargesheet filed by the CID against Parimani and others.
Parimani will continue the legal battle.
The complaint states that the chemical test report of the drugs seized from the girlfriend’s house contained ‘alcohol’ in the liquid kept in seven bottles. The alcohol content of these liquors is 14.2 percent, 12.3 percent, 12.6 percent, 11.6 percent, 12.1 percent, 15.2 percent and 11.2 percent respectively. In addition, the granular material in the paper packet contains ‘methamphetamine’. And ‘LSD’ was found in Blatter’s paper.
Nineteen people have been called as witnesses in the chargesheet filed against three persons including Parimani.
Parimani bought a car with a loan
A car, passport, laptop, mobile phone and some other belongings of the bride were seized by the law enforcers. On the basis of an application, the court on September 28 ordered to hand over the car and other evidence to the bride. The owner of the car, Parimani, has been informed in a separate report from CID.
According to the documents submitted by the CID, Parimani bought the car with a loan of Tk 3 million from a bank. A senior official of the private bank informed the CID in writing. It is also mentioned that the bank has no objection if the car is handed over to the bride.
That allegation in the case against the bride
The case was filed against the girlfriend under the Narcotics Control Act, RAB-1 officer Md. Mujibur Rahman. He wrote in the case that on August 4, he and other members of RAB-1 were stationed at Gulshan-1 roundabout. At 4:05 pm, based on secret news, you can know that Ashraful Islam, a girlfriend of a house in Banani, has collected foreign liquor through Dipur and stored it in his house. They are staying at home. Later, they raided the fifth floor of the house and arrested him from the bedroom of his girlfriend’s house with the help of female RAB members. Foreign wine was seized from inside a wooden frame in the bedroom as shown by the bride. In addition, four grams of ice or crystal meth kept in a white zipper was seized from the bedroom. One blot LSD drug was also seized. The estimated market value of foreign liquor and other drugs from the house of the actress is Tk 2 lakh 8 thousand.
According to the case, Parimani used to collect these liquors through a person named Kabir and keep them at home. In the case, it was said that after questioning the actress, it was learned that she used to collect liquor from producer Nazrul Islam Raj. However, the lawyers of Parimani and Ashraful Islam told the court that the case filed by RAB alleging getting alcohol at home was not correct.
Actress Parimani had filed a case with Savar Police Station in June alleging that she had been raped and murdered at the Dhaka Boat Club. Chargesheet has also been filed in the court in that case. It is said that Parimani was beaten and sexually assaulted at the boat club. He was beaten and sexually assaulted by businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud and his associates Shah Shahidul Alam and Tuhin Siddiqui alias Amir.
