POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 15, 2021: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that our success in combating coronavirus has gained international recognition. At the climate conference, I also said that we want to make our own vaccine.
He made the remarks while participating in a discussion in Parliament on Monday (November 15th) on the launch of an international award in the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, ‘UNESCO-Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Prize in the Field of Creative Economy’.
“The barriers to vaccine development need to be removed,” he said. It needs to be exposed. It deserves the people. It must be given as the wealth of the people. So that no one in the world can stay away from this vaccine. We will also produce vaccines if given the opportunity. We have that ability. That’s why I bought the land. But we are working with initiative.
Recalling the victims of Bangabandhu and his family, the Prime Minister said, “In just three and a half years, he was building a war-torn country. Bangladesh became a member of an international organization. No country in the world has been able to get so much recognition in such a short period of time after independence that Bangladesh has been able to do. That was possible because we had strong leadership like Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. But our misfortune is that for the socio-economic emancipation of the people of this country, to make freedom meaningful, to bring the benefits of independence to the doorsteps of Bangladesh, when he announced the economic program, the program of the Second Revolution, at that very moment This killing is not only President Bangabandhu or Sheikh Mujib but also our family and other relatives.
The Prime Minister said, ‘We have initiatives all the time. Which the Father of the Nation has given us the Constitution. Gave us four basic principles. He also spoke about the basic human rights. To build houses for the landless people of Bengal, to bring medical services to the doorsteps of the people, to arrange education, to make education unpaid.
He said, ‘A war-torn Bangladesh. No currency notes. In this situation, the primary school was made government and about one and a half lakh government jobs were given, even the newspapers which were burnt down, which they could not run. He has given the status of government job to those journalists. He re-nationalized every Pakistani’s abandoned factory or abandoned or closed down factory, just as every mother-in-law cures her child.
“The private sector is slowly opening up and that is stated in the economic policy of our constitution,” he said. At the same time he thought of mechanizing our agriculture in that era. We have to double or triple our crop. The people of the country must be given food security. He always said that the beggar nation has no respect.
The Prime Minister said she wanted Bangladesh to be able to stand tall in the world court with self-respect. Seventy-five years later, we have seen thousands of military officers, air force officers, soldiers, civilians being killed indiscriminately. He has been kept in jail.
