POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 18, 2021 : On the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence, a special discussion will be held in the National Assembly on November 24 and 25. At 3 o’clock in the afternoon, the President said. Abdul Hamid will give a commemorative speech in Parliament. After the general proposal is raised and after two days of discussion, that proposal will be accepted. Today, at the end of the parliamentary session, the speaker said. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury informed the Parliament about this.
Before adjourning the session, the Speaker said, “I am pleased to announce that we are celebrating the golden jubilee of independence in 2021 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of our great independence.” Various programs are being held throughout the year to celebrate the Golden Jubilee in a colorful and dignified manner. Following this, a special discussion of the Jatiya Sangsad will be held on November 24 and 25 on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence.
It may be mentioned that the government had taken various programs by declaring last year as ‘Year of Mujib’ to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, the architect of independence. However, due to the inability to carry out the programs for the Corona epidemic properly, the term of the Mujib year was extended till December 16, 2021. On March 26 this year, Bangladesh celebrated the golden jubilee of independence. December 16 will mark the 50th anniversary of the victory. A year-long program is being celebrated on this occasion.
On the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Jatiya Sangsad sat in a special session for the first time in the history in November last year. In that session, President Abdul Hamid spoke on the life and work of Bangabandhu. Similarly, on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence, although there was a plan for a special session of the parliament, it has been decided to change it and hold a special discussion.
