This is the success of Bangabandhu’s composition of Bangladesh. Today, Pakistan is disappointed to see the development of Bangladesh. Under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is moving forward at an indomitable pace. In his letter to US President Biden congratulating Mujib, he cited Bangladesh as an example of development.
He said this while participating in a special discussion in the National Assembly on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence on Thursday.
The Information and Broadcasting Minister said that when Bangabandhu was assassinated, the country’s GDP growth was 9.59 percent. To date, we have not been able to achieve this GDP growth. If Bangabandhu had not been killed, if that growth had continued, Bangladesh would have been a developed country within 10-15 years of independence.
He further said, “We remember Nawab Sirajuddaula with utmost respect.” He was the last independent Nawab of Bengal. But he also had to pay taxes to the emperor of Delhi. He was not a Bengali. Only Bangabandhu brought independence to Bangladesh. He was the head of state of independent Bangladesh.
He said Bangabandhu had a plan to make Bangladesh independent immediately after the establishment of Pakistan. When he was in prison in 1951, he wrote a letter to the main leader of the Communist Party, Comrade Mani Singh. He said in the letter, “I want to make Bangladesh independent, whether you are with me or not, otherwise I will go ahead alone.
