POBNEWS24, Dhaka Nov 29, 2021 : A new variant of the deadly coronavirus, Omicron, is being implemented by the Department of Health to strictly enforce 15-point measures to prevent infection. On Sunday, the director of the Department of Disease Control, Professor. A notification signed by Nazmul Islam informed about these steps.

“Extreme caution should be exercised in other countries as the South African variant of the coronavirus ‘Omicron’ has been infected in other countries,” the statement said. The World Health Organization has warned all countries about this.

Many countries, including the United Kingdom, Israel and the United Arab Emirates, have cut off air links to South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Swatini and Lesotho. Experts say the new variant is more contagious than the Delta. So it is likely to spread quickly.

The department has requested for strict implementation of 15 measures to control and prevent Cavid-19 across the country.

1. Passengers from South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho and other affected countries announced from time to time by the World Health Organization need to strengthen health checks and screening at ports.

2. All kinds of public gatherings (social, political, religious, other) should be discouraged.

3. If necessary, when going out of the house, every person should always cover his nose and face properly and make sure to follow all the hygiene rules including wearing a mask.

4. Restaurant meals need to be half or less of the capacity.

5. All public gatherings, tourist spots, recreation centers, resorts, community centers, cinema halls, theater halls and social events (weddings, weddings, birthdays, picnics, parties, etc.) can be attended by half or less of the capacity.

. Hygiene should be ensured in all places of worship including mosques.

. Hygiene must be ensured in public transport.

. Passengers from affected countries must ensure 14 days quarantine.

9. Hygiene should be ensured in all educational institutions (madrasas, pre-primary, primary, secondary, higher secondary, university) and coaching centers.

10. In all healthcare institutions, service recipients, service providers and health workers should always ensure proper adherence to all the hygiene rules including covering the nose and face and wearing masks.

11. Vaccination activities should be conducted in compliance with hygiene rules.

12. Isolation of corona patients with corona symptoms and confirmation of corona patients and coronary positive patients should be confirmed.

13. A person with Codid-19 symptoms can be assisted by keeping them in isolation and coordinating with local authorities to test their samples.

14. Make sure to cover your nose and face and wear a mask when entering and staying in the office. Hygiene compliance must be officially confirmed.

15. In order to control and reduce Codid-19 disease, miking and campaigns can be carried out at the community level to create awareness about compliance with hygiene including mask removal. Mosques, temples, churches, pagoda mics can be used if necessary and elected public representatives including ward councilors, union council members can be involved.
