Coming from Sunil Narine of Comilla in both the role of bat and ball, the failed storm of Saikat Ali of Barisal with bat in hand, in the end Shakib’s unavailability due to only 1 run — this year’s final will be remembered for many reasons.
This is the second time that the BPL final has been decided. But if you are asked to choose the name of the best final in the history of BPL, how many will choose this final? Let’s take a look at what happened in the previous finals!

Match result: Dhaka Gladiators beat Barisal Burners by 8 wickets
With the skill of Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal and Imran Nazir, Dhaka Gladiators got a one-sided victory. Nazir finished the match with 28 balls to spare.

Result of the match: Dhaka Gladiators defeated Chittagong Kings by 43 runs
The power of Dhaka was seen for the second time. Enamul Haque (56), Shakib (41) and Mohammad Ashraful (24) scored 162 runs in Dhaka. Chittagong Kings, who lost their way in front of Mosharraf Hossain’s spin, did not get any chance. Chittagong were bowled out for 129 in 18 overs.

Result of the match: Comilla Victorians defeated Barisal Bulls by 3 wickets
Mashrafe, who won the title for Dhaka for the first time, was in charge of Comilla Victorians this time. However, Mashrafe’s hat-trick victory came thanks to Alok Kapali. Comilla lost to Barisal Bulls in the last ball of the innings thanks to Imrul Kayes’ half-century (53) and Kapali’s (39 off 27 balls).
2018
Result of the match: Dhaka Dynamites defeated Rajshahi Kings by 58 runs
Evin Lewis (45) and Kumar Sangakkara (28) somehow made 159 Dhaka. Batting of Rajshahi Kings for 160 runs was even more bizarre. Muminul (26) and Sabbir Rahman (26) batted in ODI rhythm. After losing 2 wickets in the first 10 overs, Rajshahi were all out for 103 runs.
2018
Result of the match: Rangpur Raiders defeated Dhaka Dynamites by 57 runs
Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum were at the start of the match. McCullum brought 51 runs in 201 runs. Gayle didn’t let him do more than that. He scored 146 off 59 balls for a relatively difficult wicket. Gayle had 16 sixes with five fours. Rangpur Raiders climbed the hill for 206 runs. Mashrafe did not have to do anything extra to bowl. Dhaka Dynamites managed to score 149 runs for 9 wickets.
2019
Match result: Comilla Victorians beat Dhaka Dynamites by 16 runs
Rudrarup of Tamim was seen in the final. Left-arm opener Enamul Haque’s second highest innings of 141 off 61 balls with 24 off 30 balls! Tamim hit 100 off 50 balls in 10 fours and 11 sixes. Dhaka Dynamites came down with the target of 200 runs. The team lost its rhythm on the return of Tharanga who made 48 off 26 balls. Captain Shakib (3) also failed. Dhaka stopped at 162 runs.
2020
Result of the match: Rajshahi Royals defeated Khulna Tigers by 21 runs
Irfan Shukkur (52) laid the groundwork, while Andre Russell (28 off 18 balls) and Mohammad Nawaz (41 off 20 balls) did the rest. In the first 10 overs, Rajshahi Royals got a capital of 160 runs. The Khulna Tigers never raised the hope of winning in reply. Khulna stopped with 156 runs.
2022
Result of the match: Comilla Victorians defeated Fortune Barisal by 1 run
Sunil Narine of Comilla started the thunderstorm. Moin Ali’s 36 off 32 balls in the middle order was added to his 56 off 23 balls with five fours and five sixes. In reply to 151 runs scored by Comilla, Barisal stopped with 150 runs. Saikat Ali and Chris Gayle did not win the Shakibs despite raising hopes.
