POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 6, 2022 : UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on world leaders to take renewed action to stop Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He called for six steps to be taken against Russian President Vladimir Putin. News from the BBC.
Next Tuesday, Boris Johnson will attend a meeting of the Vifor Group, an alliance of four European countries. The meeting will be attended by leaders of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Boris proposed these steps ahead of the meeting.
Prime Minister Johnson will discuss the move in talks with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte on Monday at Downing Street.
These six proposals are
: 1. World leaders should launch an ‘international humanitarian alliance’ for Ukraine.
2. World leaders should support Ukraine’s fight for self-defense.
3. Economic pressure on Russia must be increased.
4. The international community must resist the way Russia is normalizing the aggression in Ukraine.
5. Diplomatic resolution of the war must be given importance, but in this case there must be full participation of the legitimate government of Ukraine.
. The work of strengthening security among the NATO allies should start soon.
Russia’s military operation in Ukraine lasted 11 days. Russian forces continue to attack various cities in the country. Russia’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly called for a “no-fly zone” in Ukraine in the face of a full-scale attack. No one has responded to his call yet.
