POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Apr 8, 2022 : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the Awami League government has made unprecedented development in the country in the last 13 years. He said, “We are implementing various programs to take the youth of the country forward.” That is why the unemployment rate in the country has come down.
The Prime Minister said this in a message given on the occasion of Bangladesh Scouts Day on Friday (April 8).
Sheikh Hasina said, “Our government is continuing its efforts to ensure advanced and practical education to the youth.” In the meantime, we have moved from a least developed country to a developing country. Employment and per capita income have increased in the country. Bangladesh is a role model in the world today in terms of socio-economic progress.
The Prime Minister said the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was to build a non-communal happy and prosperous Bangladesh. The Father of the Nation recognized the Scout Organization by issuing a Presidential Order in 1972 with the aim of developing the children, adolescents and youth of the country as self-reliant, benevolent and good citizens.
Sheikh Hasina said, “I have given instructions to open at least two scout teams in each educational institution and to open quality Girl in Scout teams for girls.” Our government will continue to support Scouting.
He said the scouting activities started on April 6, 1972 with the overall support of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the greatest Bengali nation of all time. April 7, 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Scouting in independent Bangladesh. I applaud the initiative to celebrate this day as ‘Bangladesh Scouts Day’.
He hoped that every member of the Bangladesh Scouts would play their role in building the golden Bangladesh of the dream of the father of the nation by performing their duties with patriotism and devotion.
The Prime Minister wished overall success to Bangladesh Scouts Day.
