POBNEWS24, Dhaka, May 23, 2022 : A letter from Bangladesh has been sent to India, expressing concern over Rohingya infiltration into Bangladesh from India.
Dhaka sent the letter to New Delhi on Sunday (May 22).
According to foreign ministry sources, Rohingyas are recently entering into Bangladesh from India through various borders. Concern has been raised and a letter has been sent to the Indian authorities from the Ministry of External Affairs to stop such unwanted influx of Rohingyas.
It is learned that a section of Rohingyas who were forcibly displaced from Rakhine State of Myanmar took refuge in different provinces of India. But recently there are reports that these Rohingyas are coming to Bangladesh without returning to their homeland.
Earlier on May 16, Foreign Minister. AK Abdul Momen said that Rohingyas are coming to Bangladesh from India in the hope of good food. This is a concern for us.
He added that unfortunately many Rohingyas are moving to Bangladesh. These Rohingyas entered India in 2012 and took refuge in different provinces of the country. Now they have heard that if you come to Bangladesh you will get very good food and drink. We will tell India that such an accident is happening.
In the midst of military repression, rape and massacre in Myanmar, about seven and a half lakh Rohingyas took refuge in Bangladesh after crossing the sea and border on August 25, 2016.
In all, Bangladesh is currently home to more than 1.1 million Rohingya people.
