POBNEWS24, Dhaka June 5, 2022 : The Fire Service and Civil Defense have formed a six-member high committee to investigate the fire at the BM Container Depot in Bhatiari area of Sitakunda. The committee was asked to report within five working days. This information was given in a press release of the Fire Service and Civil Defense on Sunday (June 5).
The committee has been headed by Director (Training, Planning and Development) Lt. Colonel Md. Rezaul Karim, PSC and Member Secretary of the Chittagong Division Deputy Director. To Anisur Rahman.
The other members of the committee are Abdul Momin, Vice Chairman, Fire Service and Civil Defense Training Complex; Station Warehouse Inspector. Omar Farooq and Deputy Assistant Director (currently he is) of Chittagong Zone-1 of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department.
It may be mentioned that a fire broke out at BM Container Depot in Bhatiari area of Sitakunda around 9:30 pm on Saturday (June 4). According to the latest information, 36 people were killed and more than 200 injured in the accident. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals including Chittagong Medical College.
