POBNEWS24, Dhaka June 5, 2022 : Due to accumulation of garbage in drains, sewers and canals, the city is flooded with low rainfall or high tide. Nusrat Jahan was born and raised in this city. Seeing the plight of his hometown, he thought something should be done.
Nusrat thought that first of all he needed to change his habits. Nusrat used to bring home a bag of food if he could not put any food wrapper in the dustbin, when he realized how much adverse effect his small unconscious work brings to the environment. That’s how it started.
He then began to associate with organizations that work with the environment. Worked with Volunteer for Bangladesh, Save Youth. Then he took an initiative himself. He is working on the use of renewable resources through this initiative called ‘Eco Savior’. Students are becoming more aware of the use and benefits of renewable energy, in addition to which EcoSavier is now conducting long-term research on environmental issues.
Nusrat is a student of sociology. However, due to his interest in environment, he is doing academic thesis on environment-related issues. He also wants to take higher education from outside the country on environmental issues. Nusrat was saying, ‘The world will become livable only if we consciously try to control our petty behavior. Everyone has to come forward from their respective places before the administration’s attention. Then the world will be livable for all. ‘
