POBNEWS24, Dhaka, June 6, 2022 : A joint training titled ‘Exercise Sampriti-10’ has begun with the participation of Bangladesh and Indian Army.
Its inaugural ceremony was held at Jessore Cantonment today (Monday).
According to a press release issued by ISPR, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 55 Infantry Division and Area Commander Jessore Area Major General Md. Nurul Anwar inaugurated the training as the chief guest.
Indian Army officers, JCOs and other ranks of Army personnel led by Brigadier General Rupesh Sehgal of the Indian Army, and officers, JCOs and soldiers of other ranks serving in Jessore area were present on the occasion.
‘Exercise Sampriti-10’ is an important bilateral military cooperation and development effort between Bangladesh and India, the statement said.
The two countries have been conducting the exercise bilaterally since 2010. The primary objective of this joint exercise is to further strengthen the existing positive relationship between the Armed Forces of Bangladesh and India.
The exercise is expected to strengthen and expand the two countries’ military inter-action, counter-terrorism, humanitarian assistance, disaster management and protection of civilians under the United Nations’ UNPOC activities.
The exercise will be conducted as Command Post Exercise (CPX) and Field Training Exercise (FTX).
Twenty officers from each country are participating in the Command Post Exercise (CPX) and 12 officers, 9 junior commissioned officers and 129 soldiers of other ranks are participating in the field training company Exercise (FTX).
In addition to the operational activities, a number of sports and social events will be held during this period.
The two-week long exercise is scheduled to end on June 16, the release added.
