POBNEWS24, Dhaka June 23, 2022 : The construction work of Padma bridge has been completed. The contractor China Major Bridge Engineering Corporation explained the responsibility of the bridge to the project authorities on Wednesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, the bridge authority gave a taking over certificate to the contractor after understanding all the works of the project bridge. The construction work of Padma bridge has been officially completed by signing the project manager on Wednesday.
Padma Bridge Executive Engineer (Main Bridge) Dewan. Abdul Quader said, 100 percent work of Padma bridge has been completed. The small things that were left were also finished. The Padma Bridge project has been implemented in six sections including river governance, main bridge, connecting road and service area, land acquisition and rehabilitation.
He added that the work on the bridge was officially started on November 26, 2014 by the contractor Major Bridge Engineering Corporation of China (MBEC). Although the work is completed, the duration of the project is one more year. The project will end on June 30, 2023. If there is any defect in the construction work within the next one year, the contractor will repair or rebuild it at its own risk.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the bridge on June 25.
