POBNEWS24, Dhaka July 10, 2022 : Today is the holy Eid-ul-Azha, a day of celebration for the Muslims of the world, inspired by the glory of sacrifice. Despite the persistent extremes and the unfavorable environment created by the floods in some parts of the country, the joy of Eid did not go away. The day of Eid-ul-Azha is fixed 10 days in advance on the basis of the sighting of the moon in the Arabic month of Jilhaj. Muslims spend these 10 days doing various good deeds.
This Eid is celebrated through animal sacrifices according to one’s ability. On the day of Eid, everyone, big or small, prays in the Eidgah in the festive mood. Everyone, including themselves and their families, prayed for the well-being of the countrymen and the Muslim Ummah. As always, many people of the capital have returned to their village homes to enjoy Eid with their families. Over the last few days, millions of people have left Dhaka by bus, train and launch. Meanwhile, the capital Dhaka is almost empty.
The joyous atmosphere created by buying and caring for animals before the Eid of Korbani can be seen again in the urban areas. The buyers bargained from the market and bought the animal of their choice. Gatherings of cattle and animal feed have been seen in the neighborhoods since seven to 10 days ago. The roar of animals and the rush of people to take care of them is also creating a different atmosphere in the civic environment.
President on the occasion of the holy Eid al-Adha. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have given separate statements. In the message, they wished Eid to the countrymen and wished peace and welfare to the Muslim Ummah. In his message, the President reminded of the need to take appropriate precautions to prevent future outbreaks of the Corona epidemic. At the same time, he called on the wealthy and affluent people of the country to come forward so that the low-income people are not deprived of the joy of Eid and join the Eid celebrations in the face of rising global inflation caused by the Corona epidemic and ongoing wars in different parts of the world. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, Bangladesh Awami League, BNP, Jatiya Party and other political parties have greeted the people.
Authorities have advised caution as corona outbreaks are on the rise in the country again. According to the news agency BSS, the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Thursday issued eight-point instructions in view of the ongoing load shedding and corona situation. To prevent coronavirus infection, soap or hand sanitizer has been instructed to be kept in mosques and Eidgah hospitals. In standing in Qatar for Eid prayers, one has to follow social distance and hygiene rules. One has to line up intervals. It is forbidden to do any kind of lighting to save electricity. It has also been urged to follow the instructions of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock in the case of animal sacrifice.
On the eve of Eid, about 82 lakh people have been severely affected by floods in 9 districts in the north-east of the country. Many flood-prone areas are still isolated. Families who have been able to return home from the shelter are also busy repairing floodplains. The workers who lost their livelihood due to the floods and the marginal farmers who lost their crops are struggling to cope.
Even after that, all the people will try to spend one day of Eid as happily as possible. No matter how unfavorable the situation is, people will share the joy of Eid. Sacrifice is the main message of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, better known as the Eid of Sacrifice in this country. Giving away even a little of oneself to one’s neighbors and relatives is a form of that glorious sacrifice.
Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was ready to sacrifice his beloved son at his command to gain the pleasure of Allah Almighty. Remembering that sacrifice, Muslims all over the world sacrifice animals for the sake of Allah. This is the right time to give up greed and violence and sacrifice your inner bestiality in the current adverse situation.
