POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 19, 2022 : Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports have been asked to display local warning signal number 3. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay of Bengal, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur at some places in southern region. Along with this, sea ports, North Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Bangladesh may experience stormy winds.
Under the influence of low pressure and excess of air pressure difference, the coastal districts of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalkathi, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barisal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar and their remote islands and lowlands of Aungchar are 2 to 4 above normal tide. Wind-driven tides of more than 10 feet may be inundated.
Fishing boats and trawlers operating in North Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been asked to take shelter and stay in safe shelter till further orders.
According to the special weather bulletin today, the pronounced low pressure over Northeast Bay of Bengal moved northwestward and intensified into a low pressure over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent Northeast Bay of Bengal this morning. It may intensify further and move northwestward.
