POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 29, 2022 : The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed an application in the High Court seeking cancellation of the bail of Ismail Chowdhury Samrat, the expelled president of Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo League. A bench of the High Court on Monday (August 29) allowed the bail application in view of the ACC’s plea.
In the meantime, Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat has left the hospital after being released on bail. Earlier on October 6, 2019, RAB arrested Samrat and his associate Enamul Haque Arman from Chouddagram in Comilla.
Later, Kakrail’s office was raided with him. During this time, a large amount of foreign liquor, pistols and skins of rare species of wild animals were recovered from inside. The traveling court sentenced him to six months imprisonment for possessing the skins of wild animals.
He was then booked under the Arms and Narcotics Act. Later, the ACC also filed a case against him for allegedly acquiring illegal wealth.
