POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 31, 2022 : The Bangladesh Embassy in Baghdad has requested Bangladeshi expatriates living in Iraq to stay in a safe place. On Tuesday (August 30), the head of the Bangladesh Embassy in Baghdad. This was suggested in an emergency notification signed by Ahiduzzaman Liton.
The embassy has also launched five hotline numbers to assist expatriates. According to the notification, Bangladeshi citizens living in Iraq are being informed that they are requested to stay in safe places due to the ongoing political and security situation.
Expatriate Bangladeshis are also requested to contact the hotline of the embassy in case of any need.
Two days ago, influential Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr announced his resignation amid months of political turmoil in the Middle Eastern country of Iraq. His followers then stormed the presidential palace in Baghdad’s Green Zone and clashed with rival factions. Several people lost their lives in this violence.
