The 2008 government was elected with a huge vote on the promise of Vision-2021 and it has been implemented. The poverty rate in the country has come down to 20 percent. Harvard-Cambridge economists praised Bangladesh’s success. ‘

Non-governmental development organizations have played the role of government partners in poverty alleviation since independence.
