POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Nov 28, 2022 : Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to Japan has been postponed, said the country’s foreign minister. AK Abdul Momen. He said this in a discussion meeting at a hotel in the capital today.
“By whom has the Prime Minister’s visit to Japan been postponed” – Dr. Momen said, we have postponed. They are ready. We postponed the tour due to multiple considerations.
He said, the then prime minister of Japan invited us. We received this invitation two years ago. Couldn’t go for more than two years due to covid. All the finals are now. But recently there has been an upheaval in the Japanese government. Three influential ministers resigned in succession.
The foreign minister said, “In the meantime, we have received news that there will be some proposals in the Japanese parliament, about the current prime minister of the country.” He (Japanese Prime Minister) is very busy. Second is because of covid. Japan still has to quarantine for covid. They will allow up to 10 people. We will go in a big group. Businessmen will go. We want to bring businessmen, so that investment in our country increases.
He said, our investment with Japan is increasing. But we want more investment. We must go to Japan.
It should be noted that the role of Japan in the development of the infrastructure of post-1971 war-ravaged Bangladesh is very high. China and America sided with Pakistan and fought against India that day killing millions of people.
Recently, pro-Pakistanis in Bangladesh have been criticizing Sheikh Hasina’s visit to Japan. In this regard, Foreign Minister Momen said that diplomatic relations with those countries were not good during their time. After Sheikh Hasina came to power, relations with the outside world have become very sweet.
