POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Jan 17, 2023: The project to purchase Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) did not come up in the National Economic Council Executive Committee (ECNEC) meeting. And Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also did not want to know anything about it.
Planning Minister said, EVM was not in our list. The Prime Minister also did not want to know about it. It is being processed as per law. If it is not approved then concerned will see. It is not within my scope.
It is known that the Election Commission has finalized a project proposal of 8 thousand 711 crore rupees for the purchase of 2 lakh more EVMs. However, the project is yet to be approved. Currently, the Ministry of Planning is analyzing the cost of the project.
On this day, approval was given for the second revision of the multi-lane tunnel construction project under the Karnaphuli river. Including this, 11 projects have been approved. The cost of 11 projects is 10 thousand 683 crores.
