POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Jan 18, 2023: After the increase in the price of electricity, the price of gas has also been increased. However, residential prices have not increased. Prices have increased in the industrial and commercial sectors. Today Wednesday (January 18) a notification has been issued to increase the price of gas.
The notification informed that the price of gas per cubic meter for power plants has been increased from Tk 5.02 paise to Tk 14. Increased from Tk 16 to Tk 30 for captive power plants. And the fertilizer has not been increased for the factory, it is the same as before i.e. 16 taka.
In the case of industries, the price of gas per cubic meter has been increased from 11 taka 98 paisa to taka 30 per cubic meter in large industries. In medium industries 11 has been increased from 78 paisa to 30 taka and in small industries from 10 taka 78 paisa to 30 paisa.
For commercial customers (hotels, restaurants) the price per unit has been increased from Tk 26 to Tk 30. However, the price of gas at CNG stations remains at Tk 43 per cubic meter as before.
Meanwhile, the residential gas price has not been increased, it remains the same as before. For cooking gas, the monthly bill of two stoves (double burner) is Tk 1080, the monthly bill of one stove is Tk 990. And 18 rupees per unit in prepaid meter.
Earlier in June last year, the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) increased gas prices by 22.78 percent.
