Metro Rail will run from dawn to midnight

POBNEWS24, Dhaka Feb 9, 2023 :Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director MAN Siddique said that Metro Rail will run daily from dawn to midnight. This new schedule will be implemented from July.

DMTCL Managing Director MAN Siddique told reporters at the DMTCL office in Iskaton, Dhaka on Thursday (February 9).

He said, considering the convenience of the passengers, new stations are being added to the metro rail. Metro Rail started from Uttara North (Diabari) through Agargaon station but later stopped at Pallavi as well. Uttara Center Station will be opened on February 18 and Mirpur Station No. 10 on March 1.

Once this route is fully operational, passengers will be able to travel to Uttara Dakshin, Mirpur-11, Kazipara and Sheorapara stations.

He said that if the metro rail is fully operational from Uttara to Kamalapur, it will be able to transport 60 thousand passengers per hour and five lakh passengers per day. Basically, the metro rail will be constructed from Uttara to Motijheel in the capital. For this reason, the Metrorail project was accepted in July 2012. Its initial implementation period was till June 2024. However, the period was later extended. But before that, a part of the metro rail was inaugurated on December 28.
