POBNEWS24, Dhaka Feb 10, 2023 : In class VI and VII, the ‘Inquiry Text’ of history and social science books prepared in the new curriculum has been withdrawn. However, the teaching activities of the students of this class will continue from the practice lessons of the book.
This was informed in the press release of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) today on Friday.
A senior official of NCTB said that there are two in History and Social Science. In this investigative text, various traditions and historical places of the country have been described. Where there were complaints of written copy with various mistakes. Due to this, it has been decided to drop this book this year. The teaching program of the students will continue from another book ‘Practice Lessons’ on History and Social Science subjects. Next year when the new book is printed, necessary amendments will be made in the research text and it will be incorporated in the practice text.
Earlier, in an event in Chandpur, Education Minister Dr. Deepu Moni.
The minister said, ‘Some say it would have been better if it was not in the book. Some are overwritten. We are saying that the two books of the sixth and seventh classes of this year’s curriculum will be revised. These two classes of books which are being talked about, will stop reading.
The minister also said, ‘There is nothing anti-Islamic in these books. Even so, we listen to people, if someone is suffering, we also give importance and respect.’
