POBNEWS24, Dhaka, May 9, 2023 : Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen has said Bangladesh would become another China in terms of economic development due to the strong leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“I can see Bangladesh will become another China, may be better, since it has strong leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said
The ambassador said as per the forecast, the GDP growth of Bangladesh will overtake the China next year and Beijing very much appreciate Dhaka’s such success.
“We are encouraged to see Bangladesh’s development,” he added.
Yao was speaking at the pre-departure reception on Sunday evening at the Chinese Embassy here in honour of the Bangladeshi participants attending Chinese government training programmes of 2023.
The envoy said Bangladesh is already a model for many countries in the world in terms of development.
“Our (Bangladesh and China) final objective is common- development,” he added.
Yao said that the participants of the first batch of the training are very lucky as such visits have resumed after three years of Covid-19 related restrictions.
The ambassador said this programme will help the participants study China in a better way as the two countries eye strengthening bilateral relations on all aspects.
Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy Song Yang coordinated the programme.
