POBNEWS24, Dhaka, June 22, 2023 : Eid-ul-Azha is about a week away. However, in the meantime, the National Eidgah Maidan is being prepared for the main Eid congregation in the capital Dhaka. If everything goes well, the Eid-ul-Azha main congregation will be held at the National Eidgah Maidan located in the Supreme Court premises like every other time.
On Wednesday (June 21) morning, a tour of the National Eidgah Maidan showed that the construction of pandals was going on in a large area. A triple is pulled over the head as a samina to protect the worshipers from rain and sun. The entire field will be covered with triple. The upper canopy is prepared with waterproof awnings. Now inside prayer area, making rain water drainage system and decorating with white cloth will be done in the inner part of the field.
It has been seen that the work of pulling bamboo for the construction of pandals is being done over a large area. The entire field will be covered with bamboo on top of that. Bamboo is being stretched to prepare the upper canopy with waterproof awnings. In addition, the ground is being poured and leveled in the inner part of the field to create a prayer area, rainwater drainage system and decorate it with white cloth.
Then at the last time the decoration will be completed with the banner festoon. Sound system is being installed. For the safety of the worshippers, CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the Eidgah including inside the Eidgah Maidan.
The massive ground preparation work started from the middle of this month for the Eid-ul-Azhar prayers of lakhs of Muslims. Apart from the Eidgah grounds, the surrounding area including the High Court Shrine, Kadam Fountain will be decorated with colorful banners and festoons.

Like the previous years, this time too, the tender for the construction of the national Eidgah pandal was received from the Dhaka South City under the management of the contracting company Piyaru Sardar and Sons Decorator. Now only carpeting and white sheets are left. This is mainly done a few days before Eid. Besides, we are almost at the end of the rest of the work.
He said, every day one to 150 people are doing field preparation work. Last Ramadan, Eid prayers were offered here. Hopefully, if the weather is good, the Eid-ul-Azha prayers will be held here nicely.
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) information officer asked about this. Abu Nacher told Jago News that the main congregation of Eid-ul-Azha will be held at the National Eidgah Maidan this time. We have started activities for that purpose. There is a plan to complete all preparations of the field at least two days before Eid. Hopefully, all preparations will be completed before two days.
He said that after the preparation of the National Eidgah Maidan, DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas will visit the Eidgah Maidan and he will check whether there is any crisis or not. If there is, he will try to solve it immediately.
It is known that around 100,000 worshipers can pray together in the National Eidgah grounds. Apart from this, the President, Chief Justice, Cabinet members, Members of Parliament, Justices, politicians and important diplomatic persons participated in the Eid Jamaat at the National Eidgah. Apart from this, there is a separate prayer arrangement for women.
If the weather is favorable, the main congregation of Eid-ul-Azha will be held at the National Eidgah. An inter-ministerial meeting will be held to determine the official program for the celebration of the holy Eid-ul-Azhar from the Ministry of Religion.
The main Eid congregation is held at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram, weather permitting or for any other reason. The Ministry of Religion also decided on that. This decision was taken in the inter-ministerial meeting held on June 19 in the meeting room of the Ministry of Religion to decide the official program for celebrating the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
