POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Aug 9, 2023 : At least 12 dengue patients died and 2,844 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the last 24 hours till 8:00 am on Wednesday (August 9).
Of the new toll, seven are from Dhaka while the rest five from different parts of the country, a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
“During the period, 1092 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 1752 were admitted to different hospitals outside Dhaka,” the press release read.
“This year, 352 deaths were reported from dengue disease while 281 died last year,” the daily statement of the DGHS said.
With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 75,069, the statement said, adding, some 65,290 patients were released from different hospitals this year of the total patients.
Some 9,427 dengue patients are currently undergoing treatment at different hospitals. Of them, 4,4821 are in Dhaka while 4,006 are outside the capital city,” it added.
