POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 10, 2023 : Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh at the moment. As a result, the rains in the country decreased a lot yesterday on Wednesday. However, the Meteorological Department has said that the amount of rainfall in the country may decrease further today on Thursday.
However, rains are likely to increase again from Friday, which may continue till next Monday. After this, the intensity of rainfall may decrease a lot.

The Bangladesh Water Development Board (PAUBO) said that the main rivers (Muhuri, Feni, Halda, Karnaphuli, Sangu and Matamuhuri) in the south-eastern mountain basin are depleting.
This may further improve the flood situation in lower areas of Chittagong and Bandarban districts today.
Mehdi Hasan, assistant engineer of Paubo’s flood forecast and warning center, told Kal Kantha, “The situation in the south-eastern parts of the country will continue to improve as the rains subside and the river water recedes.”
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds are expected over all parts of the country today. However, the rain may be less today than yesterday.
Rain is likely in most parts of Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions today.
