POBNEWS24, Dhaka Nov 19, 2023 : This is India unbeaten, winning 10 consecutive matches in the final. No team can stand in front of India. The game is again at home. India is the favorite in front of 1 lakh 32 thousand spectators at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, this discussion was before the start of the match.

However, Australian captain Pat Cummins said, they want to stun the full packed stadium. Cummins showed it not only in words, but also in actions. As Australia cheers, the entire stadium falls silent.

Almost invincible India suffered their first loss in the final, that was the end. Australia became the world champion for the sixth time in ODI by making Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma cry.

Pat Cummins’ Australia thrashed India in the World Cup final in Ahmedabad today (Sunday). Playing one sided they won the match with 6 wickets and 42 balls in hand.

Australia’s target in the World Cup final was not too big, 241 runs. However, Cummins’ team was in danger from the beginning chasing a small target. Mohammad Shami-Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling ball scored 47 runs and they lost 3 wickets.

From there, Travis Head and Marnus Labuchen brought out the match in a partnership of 192 runs off 215 balls. Just 2 runs away from victory, Head was dismissed by Mohammad Siraj. The left-handed batsman hit 15 fours and 4 sixes in the match-winning innings of 137 runs off 120 balls.

Australia lost their first wicket after 16 runs in the run chase. David Warner was caught at slip while punching Mohammad Shamir for 3 balls 7. Mitchell Marsh was the victim of Jasprit Bumrah’s 15 off 15 balls. The wicketkeeper took the catch.

After scoring only 4 runs, Australia was under pressure when Steven Smith was lbw by Bumrah. Smith was not out though. The ball was pitched outside. But when the umpire gave out, Smith did not take a review.

Before this, after Virat Kohli and Lokesh Rahul’s fighting fifties, India’s innings was wrapped up for 240 runs despite playing the entire 50 overs.

Batting first in this year’s World Cup means the start of India’s streak. There was no disruption in the final. In the beginning, India lost the wicket of opener Shubman Gill (4 from 7 balls) but India picked up runs at a brisk pace.

Rohit was moving forward in a mercurial manner. Was on the threshold of half-century. However, after making 47 off 31 balls, the Indian captain had to return to the dressing room due to a great catch by Travis Head off Glenn Maxwell. After that, Australia overpowered India.

Earlier, Aussie captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Mitchell Starc sent back Shubman Gill (4 off 7 balls) at the head of the team’s 30 runs. After that, Cummins quickly brought Glenn Maxwell to the bowling. He gave success to Australia as soon as he came. Maxwell picked up his second and the team’s second wicket in the 10th over. Return Rohit Sharma to Sajghar.

Rohit could not play Maxwell well in the fourth ball of the over. He went to play shots. But the ball hit the edge of the bat and went offside. Travis Head goes behind the cover region and takes a superb catch. Rohit Sharma is out. He scored 47 runs off 31 balls. The second wicket fell at the head of the team’s 76 runs.

Then Shreyas Iyer came to bat. He scored a century in the previous match. But he also returned after hitting a boundary. Iyer caught Pat Cummins on the edge of the bat behind the wicket. The third wicket fell on 81 runs.

After losing 3 wickets for 81 runs, Virat Kohli and Lokesh Rahul entered the shell. They try to stay in the crease by clenching their teeth to advance the team. Playing 109 balls for the fourth wicket, they slowly added 67 runs.

Pat Cummins finally broke the pair. Virat Kohli, the batting hope of the Indian team, was bowled inside with his excellent delivery. Kohli’s responsible innings was 54 runs off 63 balls with 4 boundaries.

Ravindra Jadeja could not facilitate. He scored 9 runs from 22 balls and caught the wicketkeeper off Hazelwood’s ball. India lost 5 wickets for 178 runs.

Lokesh Rahul tried to pull the team from there. He batted very slowly. Finally, Mitchell Starc showed the slow Rahul the way to the dressing room.

Rahul returned with a catch in the hands of the wicketkeeper after scoring 66 runs. He hit only one boundary in the innings of 107 balls. After that, Mohammad Shami (6) was sent back to jail by Starc. India lost 7 wickets for 211 runs.
