POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 30, 2022 : State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that the activities of all filling stations in the country will be kept under surveillance to prevent fuel oil adulteration. He said, ‘From now on, the filling stations are being brought under the GPS mapping system. Through GPS tracking, it will be possible to monitor online the location, transaction, stock and service quality of any filling station instantly. ‘
The state minister said these things in the chief guest’s speech at the review meeting regarding the layout, design and model prepared for the new filling station in the light of the existing policies and the GPS location based filling station management system at the secretariat today.
Nasrul Hamid said, ‘In order to modernize the fuel sector, we are bringing all the filling stations of the country under the GPS mapping system. The initiative to make filling stations standard and attractive must be implemented quickly. It is advisable to keep the wash block clean and adequate. Monitoring should be strengthened through modern technology to strengthen fuel oil sales network. ‘
It was informed in the meeting that BPC took the initiative to set up a model filling station on the occasion of Mujib Barsha. But only three model filling stations have been set up across the country. At present there are 2 thousand 297 filling stations in the country.
