POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 8, 2023 : Dhaka District Commissioner Mohammad Muminur Rahman has announced a temporary assistance of Tk 50,000 to the relatives of the victims of the explosion in Siddiq Bazar, Old Dhaka, Rajdhani.
On Tuesday (March 7) night, he told reporters at Dhaka Medical College Hospital that 50 thousand taka will be given to the relatives of the deceased, 25 taka to the seriously injured and 15 thousand taka to those with minor injuries.
He said that transportation and food will also be arranged by the Deputy Commissioner. He said that this assistance will be provided by booths in the emergency department.
After receiving the information of the explosion, the fire service personnel came and started the rescue work. The number of units is increasing one by one. Locals also came forward to rescue the injured.
18 people have died and more than 100 have been injured till the last news. Many were also trapped in the basement of the building.
In that incident, the bodies of those killed and hundreds of injured people were brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital immediately after the incident. Many died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
