POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Mar 29, 2022 : On the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, AR Rahman, the eminent composer, music director and vocalist of the subcontinent will entertain Bangladesh through a concert in Dhaka today.

The Oscar-winning artist will perform at a concert titled ‘Cricket Celebrities Mujib 100’ on Tuesday evening at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Famous artists of the country will also sing in this concert organized by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

AR Rahman means something different.

Wherever he has set foot in the world, the insanity of the spectators has been seen everywhere. His skyrocketing popularity in Dhaka is nothing new. The superstar has been seen in various cricket festivals in Mirpur before. He is also the centerpiece of this year’s event. In the meantime, BCB has completed almost all the preparations. The stage has been built over a large part of the stadium. Seating for tens of thousands of visitors in front of the stage.

On the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, among others, there was a very stylish arrangement in the plan of BCB. Cricket was planned by forming two teams, World XI and Asia XI. That plan was thwarted in the Kavid-19 situation. However, the concert plan arranged with AR Rahman at the last moment is going to be implemented.

The program will start with the national anthem at 7:15 pm. Music lovers will be able to enter the field from 3 pm by showing the scheduled tickets. 10,000 spectators will be able to enjoy the live concert sitting on the main ground of the stadium. Tickets are being sold in three categories. The minimum price has been set at one thousand rupees. Apart from this, you can get Gold at Tk 5,000 and Platinum category tickets at Tk 10,000.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, is scheduled to arrive at the venue at 7 pm. His passion for cricket is always at the top. The Prime Minister has enjoyed many matches of the national cricket team sitting on the field. He is often seen participating in various events including BCB concerts. This time too it is no exception.

According to the schedule, the popular band Miles will perform in the first episode of the show at 7 pm. After that, popular musician Mumtaz, the queen of Bengali music, will appear on the stage. AR Rahman will take the stage in the second part of the five-hour long concert. He will rock the stage from 8pm to 11pm.

The concert is sponsored by Bashundhara Group, a leading industrial group in the country. The entire program will be broadcast live on the private satellite channel Newstwentyfour.

On the occasion of the concert, AR Rahman came to Dhaka last Sunday with more than a hundred traveling companions.
