Today’s global security environment has become extremely complex due to technological advances and disproportionate risks. Assessing the dynamic nature of this changing security situation and defining the future course of action to deal with it and formulating the necessary training outline was the main objective of this year’s AAPTC Annual General Meeting.

Highlighting the example of Bangladesh’s strong leadership in both diplomatic and military arenas in establishing world peace, he said, the model of peace-centered development presented by the Honorable Prime Minister at the United Nations General Assembly in 2023 is more relevant to deal with today’s critical security situation. Finally, he expressed hope that the discussions of the four-day conference will be fruitful and many important decisions will be taken that will encourage the Asia Pacific countries to play a more important role in world peacekeeping. Then the Army Chief inaugurated the United Nations Peace Operation Simulation Training (UNPOST).

AAPTC is a unique platform for policy makers, researchers, peacekeepers, trainers and other concerned individuals and institutions involved in peacekeeping operations, training and research. AAPTC currently has 24 member states and 02 observer countries. In the last 2023 annual conference, Bipsot Commandant Major General Md. Nasim Parvez, BSP, NDC, AFWC, PSC assumed the responsibility of the president of this important organization for one year.

Senior UN officials, ambassadors of various countries assigned to Bangladesh, UN resident representatives and representatives of various organizations assigned to Bangladesh, defense/military attachés assigned to Bangladesh, senior military, paramilitary and civilian officials, heads and representatives of other UN agencies, 26 member countries of AAPTC were present at the event.
