POBNEWS24,Dhaka, Nov 30, 2024 : Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has strongly protested against the violent protest in front of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, India, and the burning of the Bangladesh national flag and the effigy of its chief advisor.
In a statement sent to the media on Saturday (November 30), the party’s Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar made this protest.
In the statement, he said, “We express deep concern and strongly protest against the burning of the Bangladesh national flag and the effigy of the chief advisor by Indians in front of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, India. This incident by the extremist organization called ‘Bengiya Hindu Jagran’ in India is completely unintended, undesirable and regrettable.”
In the statement, he further said that the incident of burning the national flag of Bangladesh and the effigy of its chief advisor by a extremist organization called ‘Bengiya Hindu Jagran’ is against international law and diplomatic etiquette. Diplomatic experts believe that this incident is part of a deep conspiracy and plot to destroy the friendly relations between Bangladesh and India.
In this situation, there is a lack of proper security at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata. The Indian government should take necessary measures to prevent such unwanted situations in the future and provide security for the Bangladesh High Commission. He said that the main motto of Bangladesh’s foreign policy is ‘friendship with all, enmity with none.’ Bangladesh is a peace-loving country that believes in the principle of coexistence. Bangladesh also expects the same policy from all countries of the world. We urge the Indian government to take necessary measures to prevent such untoward incidents in the future and to ensure the security of all Bangladeshi diplomatic missions, diplomatic and non-diplomatic personnel stationed in India.
