POBNEWS24, Dhaka Feb 28, 2025 : With the aim of presenting the natural beauty of Cox’s Bazar to the world and instilling a sense of well-being at all levels, the Drive Race-2025 (cycling competition) was organized for the first time on Friday by the 10th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army and the District Administration, Cox’s Bazar, with the message of ‘Ride for Glory’. A total of 400 local and foreign cyclists, including 26 women and 374 men, participated in this competition from different parts of Bangladesh in 6 categories. After the competition, Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, as the chief guest, distributed prizes among the winners.
Corporal Fatema Khatun (Bangladesh Army) and Mizanur Rahman won the best women and men’s category in the professional (13-44 years) 110 km group in this competition, respectively. Laura Turrini (Brazil) and Syed Mubin won the best male and female winners in the Amateur (13-44 years) 55 km group, respectively. In addition, the first 10 winners of both the male and female categories (13-44 years old) were awarded with commemorative medals.
The experienced judging panel of Bangladesh Cycling Federation provided overall support in organizing this competition. Marine Drive Race-2025 has created enough enthusiasm and awareness to maintain the mental and physical well-being of the general public along with enhancing the positive image of Cox’s Bazar as a tourist city. It is worth mentioning that during his visit to Cox’s Bazar area yesterday (27 February 2025), the Chief of Army Staff attended the ‘Corporate Night-2025’ conference organized by Trust Bank as the chief guest and gave a guiding speech on the relevant issues.
