POBNEWS24, In’t Desk Dhaka, Aug 24,2021: Bangladesh born Syed Mohsin has been nominated by Conservative Party as its candidate for contesting Surrey–Newton constituency in Canada this year.
This was officially announced by the Conservative Party on August 14.
Janet Fryday Dory, the party’s executive director, signed the letter.
Syed Mohsin is an entrepreneur and has experience as an elected representative in Bangladesh. He has a Master of Arts and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in strategic leadership.
He was elected as a Member of Parliament in Bangladesh in his thirties. Syed is a second generation community leader inspired by his father SA Khaleque.
From his father, he has learned the value of service to others. That is why Syed continues to be an active volunteer in the community.
Syed when he moved to Canada, his first job was working as an interpreter where he helped 150 families, primarily refugees, settle down in Canada.
Now he is running to offer a fresh approach and to make Surrey a better home for everyone.
This constituency has 70 percent Indian Punjabi immigrants.
Earlier, he was elected MP from greater Mirpur (Dhaka-11) in a by-election held in 1993.
Syed graduated from South Eastern Oaklahoma State University, USA.
