POBNEWS24, Dhaka, July 18, 2021 : Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accused the government of cheating the people by collecting corona vaccines.
The BNP secretary general made the allegation at a press conference on Sunday afternoon while announcing the decision of the party’s national standing committee meeting.
He said, “The Standing Committee meeting feels that the current global epidemic Corona situation is out of the control of the government. With the Corona vaccine, the government has turned the whole situation upside down with the help of corruption. So far, a total of 11.6 million doses of the vaccine have been collected from the Serum Institute of India, Sinofarm and Kovax Platform of China. ”
“But the Health Ministry’s ‘desperate call’ advertisement to collect 1.5 crore doses of vaccine has proved that the government has been cheating the people from the very beginning of Corona and also lying about the price of vaccines.” A specific roadmap for the collection and distribution of vaccines must be made public immediately. ”
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “If 80 percent of the country’s population is to be vaccinated, 26 crore doses of vaccine are needed. Even if 1 crore vaccines are given on an average every month, it will take 2 years and 2 months. So far, however, the government has not been able to provide any specific information on vaccination or give any assurance about the source of vaccination. ”
The press conference was held at the chairperson’s office in Gulshan. The decisions of the meeting of the National Standing Committee chaired by the acting chairman of the party Tarique Rahman were presented at the press conference yesterday.
