POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Aug 10, 2021 :The deadline for closing the land border with India has been further extended. The land border with the neighboring country will remain closed till August 15. However, the land border may be opened after this period.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Foreign Secretary Masood bin Momen on today Tuesday (August 10th).
Indian Visa Centers in Bangladesh will be operational from Wednesday (August 11th). The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has announced on its verified Facebook page that the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has decided that visa centers will accept all types of applications except travel visas.
Due to the worsening situation in India, Bangladesh closed all its borders with the country for the first 14 days on April 26. Later, the border closure period was extended in several phases. The latest announcement was to keep the border closed for two days until August 10.
