POBNEWS24 Dhaka, June 17, 2023 : The Dhaka Test ended with extreme drama. Taskin Ahmed failed to create chances to get five wickets in two consecutive balls. After that Zaheer Khan was injured by his short ball and Bangladesh was happy with the victory. This victory of 546 runs is Bangladesh’s third largest victory in Test history in terms of runs.

England won by 675 runs against Australia in 1928. Then in 1934, Australia defeated England by 562 runs. And the 246-run win against Zimbabwe in Chittagong in 2005 was Bangladesh’s highest in terms of runs.

Afghanistan started the fourth day of the Dhaka Test today with 45 runs for 2 wickets.

Ebadat Hossain gave success in the third over. Nasir Jamal (6) was caught in the glove of Liton Das by his ball. Then Shariful appeared on the stage. Afsar Zazai (6) was caught by Mehdi Miraj.

This is how Afghanistan keeps losing wickets regularly. They lost five wickets for 78 in 20.5 overs when Bahir Shah (7) became Shariful’s third victim. Taskin Ahmed fell the sixth wicket of the Afghans.

Rahmat Shah (30), who kept the wicket for a long time, took the catch in the gloves of Liton Das. Taskin bowled Karim Janat (18) in the return over.

Captain Liton brought Mehdi Mirage into the attack after the pacers’ attack. Miraj picked up Amir Hamza (5) in his second over. If the umpire did not respond to the appeal of catch first, Bangladesh won on review. The midday break was pushed back half an hour in anticipation of the end of the game. Taskin took the fourth victim by trapping Yemin Ahmedzai (1) in the palm of Mushfiq.

Zaheer Khan was dismissed by the umpire on the very next ball. The review shows that the ball did not touch the bat. However, by then Taskin had already celebrated his five-wicket haul. In the next ball he was disappointed again. Zaheer Khan (4) was stumped by Taskin with a brilliant third-ball foul. But the umpire called it a no ball. The last ball of the over was a short ball. Which goes to Zaheer’s elbow. He was no longer in a position to bat. So Afghanistan’s second innings ended with 115 runs for 9 wickets. Bangladesh got a huge victory by 546 runs. Taskin took 4 wickets for 37 runs with 2 maidens after bowling 9 overs. Shariful Islam took 3 for 28 runs. Apart from this, Ibadat Hossain and Mehdi Miraj have made 1.
